Jul 12, 2023Daily Deals: Nintendo Switch Tears of the Kingdom Console, Xbox Series X, PS5 SSDs and More
As we gear up for Labor Day weekend, quite a few deals are coming through. The deals for Wednesday, August 30 include Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, and PS5 consoles and accessories, gaming projectors, power banks, HP OMEN gaming computers, and more.
Amazon "Renewed Premium" with 1 year warranty
Amazon is offering offering a "Renewed Premium) Nintendo Switch OLED The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Edition gaming console for $319.99, a savings of $40. The Tears of the Kingdom edition is a very coveted console that hasn't been discounted yet. Although this is a refurbished unit, Amazon claims that the units have been tested to at least 90% battery capacity. That makes sense since this edition came out in April of 2023 so none of these units can possibly be more than 4 months old. Anazon also states that every unit comes in branded packaging and with all original accessories and a full year of warranty.
If you haven't picked up this masterpiece of a game, then now you have even better reason to. The outstanding Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom game for the Nintendo Switch has dropped from its original $69.99 MSRP to $49.99. That's the best price we've seen so far from Amazon and very worth it for a game that can easily take up to 100 hours of your time.
Amazon currently has a TEAMGROUP 1TB Micro SDXC card for only $52.49. That's far and away one of the east expensive 1TB Micro SDXC cards we've seen, and it's fully compatible with the Nintendo Switch. If you've started compiling a collection of digital games, you probably already know just how limited the Switch's base storage capacity. The Switch and Switch OLED consoles have 32GB and 64GB of internal storage, respectively, with some of it reserved for the OS. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom uses up 16GB and Breath of the Wild about 13.5GB. If bought digitally, those two games alone would take up all of your internal storage on the OG Switch console. There's only one expansion slot in the Switch console so you want to make sure you get the biggest card you can afford.
The best gaming projector for the price
This UHZ45 has features that you'd normally find in a projector far more expensive. The UHZ45 is a 4-way pixel shift 4K projector. That means it quadruples the number of pixels on a 1080p image thus effectively making it 4K. It's not "native" 4K (native 4k projectors start at around $4000), but the upscaling is outstanding and most people won't even notice the difference. The UHZ45 is an excellent gaming projector with a fast response time of up to 4ms response time and a refresh rate of up to 240Hz. Even compared to other DLP projectors, the UHZ45 is extraordinarily bright, making it suitable for daytime viewing with semi-light control. The laser light source means you never have to change lamp bulbs.
The only real caveat of the UHZ45 is its limited lens shift (10% vertical and no horizontal) and limited zoom. That means you are restricted in terms of initial placement. If you absolutely need that flexibility, check out the Optomza UHZ50, which is also on sale right now for $1499. It has a wider zoom and has more lens shift and alignment options, making it much easier to position. It also has a higher contrast ratio, although you do lose out on some of the UHZ45's excellent brightness.
Starting today, Dell is offering a bonus $75 Dell promotional egift card when you purchase an Xbox Series X gaming console for $474.99. You're essentially getting the Xbox Series X console for $399.99. You will receive the gift card via email within 20 days after the Xbox ships and it will expire 90 days thereafter. Use the gift card to buy almost anything at Dell including gaming PCs or laptops, monitors, electronics, and even Xbox games and accessories.
If you don't want to deal with the gift card, Woot has some deals on the standalone Xbox Series X console as well as bundles. These are straight dollar-off discounts without any hurdles to overcome. From a pure value standpoint, the Dell deal is still better since you can choose what game you want with the gift card and the maximum possible discount is higher, but these are still good and come with the full 1 year Microsoft warranty (Woot is owned by Amazon and is an authorized Xbox reseller).
Amazon is offering a really cool Anker Transformers: Optimus Prime themed 10,000mAh Power Bank and 65W Wall Charger Hybrid for $69.99 after a $30 coupon that you can clip on the product page. If you're looking for an all-in-one solution for both when you're at home and when you roll out, and you want it in an attractive design, this is most definitely the device you're looking for. The Anker device itself is certainly more than meets the eye. This is a power bank and wall charger in one. What that means is that there's a 10,000mAh battery pack to charge your mobile devices when you roll out. However, it can also transform into a fast charging AC adapter so you can switch to using grid power whenever it's available.
Today Amazon is offering a 2TB WD Black SN850X PCIe M.2 NVMe SSD for only $99.99. That's the best price we've seen since Amazon Prime Day. This SSD would make an exceptional (if not overkill) storage expansion drive for your PS5 console or as a blazing fast boot drive for your next gaming rig. The SN850X is the latest generation of WD's flagship Black series M.2 SSDs. It's easily one of the fastest SSDs on the market and other similar performing SSDs currently sell for about $150. The SN850X's upgrades over the SN850 include newer flash chips (BiCS5 vs BiCS4) and an updated firmware, both of which offer improved sequential and random read/write speeds
Amazon is offering the OVIO PS5 Dual Controller Charging Station for a mere $9.99 after you (1) clip a 20% off coupon on the product page and (2) redeem a 40% off code "A9N9H4C4". This charging station normally costs $24.99, so you're saving a pretty massive 60% off for one of the most highly rated PS5 controller charging stations (by number of reviews) on Amazon.
The Anker PowerCore Slim 313 is one of the slimmest 10,000mAh power banks around. It's almost the exact same dimensions as an iPhone 14 (only 0.2" thicker). There are three types of connections, but it's important to understand which is input and which is output. USB Type-C and Micro USB are INPUT only, which means that you use either of these ports to charge the power bank itself. USB Type-A is OUTPUT only, which means this is the port that you use to charge your other devices. It's capable of delivering up to 12W of charge using Anker's PowerIQ and VoltageBoost technologies.
The Silicon Power XS70 SSD with a preinstalled robust aluminum heatsink costs well under $100. The aluminum heatsink is still slim enough to fit in the PS5 without obstruction. It boasts transfer speeds of up to 7300MB/s read and 6800MB/s write, comfortably faster than the 5500MB/s minimum recommended requirement. It actually performs a little better than the Crucial P5 Plus, the original WD Black SN850, and the Samsung 980 Pro, although that won't make a difference in your PS5.
The "Transcend" is HP's newest OMEN laptop. It's their thinnest and lightest ever, weighing in at only 4.6 pounds. The i7/RTX 4070 config is very well-priced right now at only $1439.99 after the 10% off code. However, if you want something truly special, there's an i9/RTX 4070 config equipped with a gorgeous Mini-LED display that's currently going for $1853.99 after the same code.
The RTX 3060 isn't the most powerful GPU out there, but it's also certainly no slouch; its performance is superior to the RTX 2060 SUPER and almost matches the RTX 2070 SUPER in some games. That means it's perfectly capable of handling pretty much any game out there at 1080p resolution. Depending on what you play, this rig can also do 1440p gaming.
The Victus is HP's value-minded gaming lineup. Although it might not feel as premium as the flagship OMEN model, it is every bit as powerful when equipped with the same components.
